With COVID suspending real time paranormal investigations, turn to a new online paranormal forum that live streams panel discussions. Barely one month old, Ghost Ed brings experts in the field onto panel discussions ranging from how to complete an investigation from start to finish to drilling down on popular topics like poltergeists. The monthly streams are on Tuesday evenings at 9 PM EST. Viewers are encouraged to participate and to ask questions. This is the perfect opportunity to strengthen your paranormal wheelhouse in order to put this new information to use once we can begin to safely conduct investigations post-COVID. The next live stream discussion titled “Non-Technical Paranormal Investigation Tools” is Tuesday, September 8th at 9 PM EST.

Lizzie Borden’s Maplecroft For Sale…Again

In 2018, Maplecroft, the Queen Anne Victorian House purchased by Lizzie and her sister, Emma, shortly after her acquittal of murdering her father and stepmother sold for $600,000 to the owners of the Lizzie Borden Bed and Breakfast Museum, where the alleged murders occurred. Donald Woods and Lee-Ann Wilber purchased the second home intending to open another bed and breakfast. Two years later, Maplecroft is again for sale. This time it is offered fully furnished for $890,000. Suzanne St. John, the realtor representing the property, will appear on Spooky Southcoast this Saturday to discuss the home and an incredible opportunity to own a piece of Lizzie Borden history.

David Jessup
August 20, 2020

Show Description:

David Jessup is a stand-up comedian based in Texas. He’s also the creator of @ChildrenOfDave (https://www.instagram.com/childrenofdave/), handcrafted—and haunting—sculptures using upcycled toys and other thrift store finds. His children are available for adoption and nearly all of them have new homes. With his comedy schedule in limbo due to the COVID-19 pandemic, David has begun to dabble in stop-motion animation. Join Lesia and David on Thursday, August 20th at 9 PM on Midnight.FM as they discuss his children, comedy, and various creative projects he’s working on.

Bio:

David Jessup is a stand-up comedian who can be seen on stage around the Dallas-Fort Worth area, as well. But in 2003, his life was uprooted with the murder of his friend John David “J.D.” White. White was also an artist whose body was found in the Trinity River in August of that year. He was 37; his case remains unsolved. While cleaning out White’s apartment, Jessup found a few toy parts. To honor his friend, he created his first sculpture. He hasn’t stopped since.

David Jessup’s therapy is creating curious sculptures out of discarded or broken toy parts. For the past 8 years, Jessup has reassembled toys, he calls his children, and sold them via his website, David-Jessup.squarespace.com, and various art galleries and specialty shops.

Annabelle Did Not Escape

The Internet lit up this week with a story claiming that Annabelle, the infamous conduit of evil rag doll, escaped the Warren Occult Museum. Rest assured; she is safely tucked in her locked cabinet.

The cause of the viral news story is linked to an error in translation. Actress Annabelle Wallis, who starred in the 2014 Annabelle, was interviewed where she discussed how actor Tom Cruise permitted her to jog with him while they were filming The Mummy (2017). The unfortunate confusion centered on the actress’ name and the rag doll’s name. Chinese social media sites misinterpreted the actress running with Cruise and innocently mistranslated the content. However, the Internet was not having it.

As the world continues to battle COVID-19, many posted that Annabelle the doll escaping was the final straw summing up the year.

To be clear, the real Raggedy Ann doll Annabelle is packed with the other items from the Warren Occult Museum, formerly located in Monroe, Connecticut. The museum closed in 2018, with media outlets reporting there were zoning violations. Lorraine Warren died on April 18, 2019 at the age of 92; Ed Warren died on August 23, 2006 at the age of 79. Their estate has since passed to their only child, Judy, whose husband Tony Spera manages. No word on whether or not the Warrens’ collectibles will appear in a permanent location; however, the new controversy is the online war of words between Tony and Zak Bagans, lead host on Ghost Adventures.
