Nick Groff Exits Ghost Adventures
Twitter exploded when the Travel Channel posted a “good-bye” tweet thanking Ghost Adventures (GAC) co-founder Nick Groff. Nick quickly sent out a follow-up tweet reaffirming the news that he had in fact left the insanely popular GAC show. As a true professional, Nick remained positive and respectful. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the other co-founder Zak Bagans.
Change is inevitable. Change moves at light speed in the reality television realm. Every TV show has a natural lifespan. And they differ. But in the end, all TV shows end. Realizing this, a savvy TV celebrity recreates and rebrands himself to remain relevant. Madonna comes to mind. She’s a pro at it. Zak Bagans did it by developing Ghost Adventures: Aftershocks, where he profiles some of the GAC’s more exciting investigations. Now it’s Nick’s turn.
Nick’s brainchild is Ghost Stalkers (GS), starring John E.L. Tenney and Chad Lindberg. John, the seasoned researcher, and Chad, the para-newbie, travel the U.S. in a Coachmen RV and investigate low-media profiled locations. Paranormal inventor David Rountree creates new instruments to assist in the investigations. Investigations cover 2 days with each taking a turn locked inside. John and Chad are incredibly likeable and sincere. GS has breathed a breath of fresh air into the paranormal reality TV biz. Last week GS ended its freshman season consisting of 6 episodes. Fans await news of a second season. Hint, hint Destination America.
The paranormal community took to twitter for comments from all affected. The GS base posted highly favorable comments and kept it positive. The GAC side was silent. Crickets could be heard from the lack of interest from Mr. Baggans, who focused on himself and the new season starting in January. Pressed for any comment, Mr. Bagans said:
- many of you have been asking…Nick is no longer with Ghost Adventures. Right now Im focused on the new season premiering Jan 10th 2015
- I’d also like to make an announcement……
- I’m pleased to announce that season 10 returns January 10th with the most-anticipated episode ever… the BELL WITCH CAVE #GhostAdventures
- and not to mention the next episode after BELL WITCH CAVE is the SALLIE HOUSE …oh yes, get ready!!!!
Well, this was disappointing…not unexpected…but very disappointing. Similar to the supposed rift between Jason Hawes and Amy Bruni from Ghost Hunters, this intentional diss from Bagans is abysmal to the paranormal community. Viewers do not care about the contractual obligations of paranormal reality TV people. Dishing on dirty laundry, however, diminishes the hard work others, TV and non-TV people alike, put into the field.
In short: Man up, Zak, and thank your “friend” and wish him well. Acknowledge his leaving in a professional manner. Set an example to your fans who follow ALL of you.
Update: Approximately 4 hours after the announcement and 15 minutes after posting this article, Mr. Bagans posted: I do wish Nick the best w his future while I continue to deliver GAC fans what they want. #GhostAdventures.

You should learn how to spell his name right, for one thing. And Zak didn’t diss him — in fact, it’s classier to keep quiet if there has been any bad blood (although, I don’t know if this is the case). Even if there is bad blood, that wouldn’t be that unusual for a tv show that’s been around for awhile (not to mention that we see it with music bands all the time — people get tired/bored/fed up with each other all the time or grow in different directions). If Zak wanted to keep silent, that’s his choice. He doesn’t have to gush over someone if he doesn’t want to (I mean, seriously, have you never worked in an office with someone? After several years, when someone leaves, it’s not usually all hugs and kisses — and if it is, the hugs and kisses are often fake.) It is just a job, after all. Life goes on as it always has.
Thank you for pointing out the 1 misspelling. The several other times his name was spelled correctly. I’ve since corrected.
Yes, Zak did diss him. Silence speaks volumes. No one should burn bridges. It’s unprofessional. There’s a distinct difference in thanking someone and gushing over him. Your presumption that there is bad blood says it all.
actually I agree with Roshaw . You speak about Zak as if he said something bad about Nick . Personally I kinda don’t even like Zak all that much because I think he is sorta a control freak but it sounds like you might have similar feelings with a personal agenda rather than just stepping up and stating your opinion of the guy . If Zak and Nick had problems it is perfectly fine to just avoid negative speaking publicly which – actually is more than what can be said for your actions speaking negatively of Zak . Maybe you should class it up some Haunted Librarian ?
Class it up? I think the article is accurate. Very accurate. I’m a working professional. In the business world, you would suck it up and show some generosity. You are utilizing a writing fallacy. You are attacking the person, ad hominem, and not focusing on the issue.
Dude stop dissing zak he forgot thank nick but he eventually did so suck it up
That’s true very true but still there good friends were anyway
i just think that with Nick, having a baby and all, just wants to lessen the paranormal stuff. And maybe, just maybe(REALLY HOPING), we will see Nick back in the GAC.
I’m hoping that Ghost Stalkers gets picked up. That may be the best of two worlds for Nick: family and producing.
dude i think mostly in your comment are full of negative. so can u just shut it up. u just said it to your self you are a “”professional””, and if ever you are you dont give some that bullshit of negativities,
ps. nick has its own reason why he leave and can you just respect that one.
Sure hope you’re not calling me “Dude.”
I think ghost stalkers is the dumbest show I’ve seen! That little guy jumping and squealing looks stupid. Sorry but I watch them all but this one I don’t waste my time on.
Sorry fan_of_GAC but was that English? wtf?
I would say if AAron was fired and now Nick has moved on “Which I support” There is no show. Can they be replaced and Zac have two new partners? I guess time will tell. The fakeing part is never good, true or not. I hope things for the three as friends work out. Ghost Adventures was one of my favorite shows. I did start to get uneasy about their future a few seasons ago, when the season would stop after 4 or 6 shows. Ghost Stalkers is fresh and feels like a fresh start. I hope that Zac, Aaron and Nick will all be happy within their circle and the new adventures.
I totally agree. I don’t like these mini season which seem to be the norm on the cable channels either. You’re right: Time will tell. Thanks for commenting!
I never have understood the short seasons. I do if it is a new show and they want to see if a following will take place, but shows that have been around years should know better. I give The Dead Files credit. They finish 13 shows and take a short break and head out again. Also I know Amy Allen is not a fake, so I would have to hear it from her and only her. Just putting that out there because I have seen that on message boards alot.
Aaron Goodwin was not fired . It was just a made up story . Its on Aaron’s tweets .
I never said that Aaron was fired. Didn’t even mention him.
I did’nt say he was fired either Sean. I just read that he was. In fact until the other day I had no idea anything was going on. When I saw the post that Nick wrote about leaving I started looking through Google. I am glad that Aaron still has his job. That would most likely mean the fakeing stuff was made up too which is good.
Think way back in time when America was an intelligent country. I don’t know what the fuck happened but somewhere along the way being ignorant became fashionable. If you can’t spell or use grammar correctly then please don’t comment. Don’t let it get you down though: the world will always need someone to cook french fries for them. This means guaranteed employment for the two digit IQ crowd.
I’m always amazed that these shows can’t pay for an editor. I should start a list of all the grammar errors in the captioning. Like I tell my college students: Grammar always matters.
I am not wasting my time going into some grammer natzi speach. Don’t judge others. You don’t know what may be going on.
I discuss the writing spectrum with my students where on one end is informal writing and formal writing sits on the other end. With informal writing, which blog posts fall under, I remind them that there are *some* expectations on grammar; however, there are limitations because of devices, conventions, and immediate response times. My comments on the grammar and editing apply to the TV shows. Production companies should hire professional writers to edit the captions and ensure that American grammar styles are used. I am not a grammarian and only comment on grammar when someone blasts me on mine. 🙂
r that. In my case I have glaucoma and Blepharitis. I can see but with the blepharitis by the late part of any day it makes it harder to see because of the oils that your eyes make. I only make tears when I cry. I have medications and it works for the most part. Usually I have to wash my face and eyes several times a day to get through it. Not complaining just explaining we all have issues that may keep us from spelling like I used to. Of course I can use spell check on some devices and also slow down on my typing. Have a great night all. 🙂
I’m happy that you post. Keep it up! Have a great night, too.
Your comment, regardless of proper grammar, makes you seem more ignorant than most of the other people commenting here.
My bad Sean I did say IF Aaron was fired. That was going on what I read on another site. I have a Twitter account but have missed those tweets from Aaron. At any rate I am glad he will have his job.
You’re awesome for clarifying! Most people wouldn’t. I agree, too. Glad Aaron is still on.
Thank you Haunted. I alway’s admit when I mess up LOL.
Zak tends to hog the facetime while on camera whereas Aaron is in the background actually doing work. I would bet you that Zak has never carried in gear or hooked up a camera since the show started. There is always one guy who feels he is the star of the show and the other people are bit players.
Happens a lot with musicians, too.
The fact is everyone responds to change in different ways. I hope Nick well. With that said, Zac, Aaron & Billy T will continue GA and beyond season 10, they ARE picked up for a season 11. Plus a season 2 of GA Aftershocks will air soon.
Point is this: Speculation on why Nick left is just that- Speculation. One thing I do know – from a ratings standpoint and a realistic one as well: GA is the best & most realistic paranormal show on. That “Empire News” comment about Aaron leaving and “fake” evidence is B.S. “Empire New” is a satirical site that makes up stories- example: they, “Empire News” said Jimmy Fallon got fired from the tonight show in October the same day they put out the article about Aaron. They are worse than the Enquier.
Point I’m making: Who knows why Nick left? 10 seasons is a long time. Especially with three Aries working closely together (I know this as I’m an Aries- we tend to not get along)
I love GA, and I like Zac, Aaron & Nick. I also like Billy too and this I know: The show will go on
Oh no. I’m an Aries, too. Thanks for commenting. Point well taken. And, yes, GA will go on. Hope the “casting call” for Nick’s replacement is fake, too. I don’t think they need to bring in someone else.
I am a Libra so I guess were safe LOL. I agree that they should not bring in outsiders to take Nicks spot. Billy can do it and they can use another production crew member to help Jay W. That way they have the two tech guys. That is what I would do anyway. 🙂
That’s if they even ask us. LOL. I would do the same. Maybe their listening.
Yeah- get three Aries together and there will be problems… I’m surprised they lasted 10 seasons. We Aries don’t get along. We like to show up each other. Billy is my bet on Nicks replacement. I respect Billy and his work. He would be the perfect fit. He’s already part of the team now.
BTW. I love your site Haunted Librarian. I signed up. : )
Thanks! I’m trying to inform but not get into troll wars. It’s a lot of fun. A gadget guy helps ground the investigations.
New info on GA. As of today all future references to GA’s season 10 coming up are tagged with Aaron Zac and Billy T in their new investigations. Good news, cause I like Billy T. Thought to let yah know.
Thanks. But no Jay?? Last thing I wanted to see was some hacker joining for ratings. Kind of what happened on Fact or Faked.
Yeah- Jay’s mentioned all through their meetings for production but Billy’s mentioned with Aaron & Zac in the lockdowns coming up and I agree with you totally about some outsider. I’m just glad Billy has already gone on lockdowns and has an extensive fan base on the show.
Reblogged this on sockmonkeyghost.
you all need to get a life seriously
“True”…dude??? So us fans… “need to get a life?”… about talking about something – in a good way- by the way- about something we are all fans of… and a subject we are interested in, a topic, one way or another, that affects a group of people, of a “Like Mind” that are on a site that shares our “likemindedness” and You- “The Very TRUE Dude”- that you are… I’m sure (though I have no way to confirm that fact) only by your own “Testamony” hence; the fact You went so far to name yourself “True Dude” come on a site (that maybe caught your eye?) as your sitting behind your computer, strolling through the internet, probably “dispencing you truth” on many topics that you can quickly blurt your meaningless “one-line thought of the day” To Us-to-get-a-life? I’m confused… is your comment based on our topic of conversation? on how we’re talking about it? Or that we are a like-minded group who likes to talk about subjects that concern us in a non insulting way?
And the fact that I’m typing this proves the point that I do have a life-as well as everyone else who left a comment to our fine Hosts site….
(again “any see spelling errors are the result of my Kindles auto correct) which doesn’t have a life “true dude” because Dude- it’s a little rectangular machine.

I thought they were all supposed to be friends they were before they became famous I would love to k,now what happened the trio seemed great together on screen ghost stalkers is a good show too but nicks presence will be missed on screen wonder if he will ever make a guest appearance on his show? GAC will never b the same but im sure zac aaron and billy will deliver!
Yeah,I agree.I don’t know what happened either.I know GA will go on strong because they have Billy & Jay.They were already a big part of the show, but I think now they will be more… Up front.Billy has already done a few shows (Island of the Dolls) where he filled in (sort of ) for Nick.
I think for GS to survive,Nick has to be on camera.I don’t know if Ghost Stalkers (after their first 6 shows) got picked up for anymore??? …If anyone knows could you comment???….I really think Nick will have to be ‘ON” the show for it to be a success.
…So yeah…10 seasons is a LONG time to be working with people in T.V. land, & I hope the best for Nick.. I am looking forward to more GA episodes though (Especially with people like Bill Chappell, Gary Galka, & Mark- Debbie Constantino) always on… It’s Just my thoughts on it all…
Its a sad thing that you all are taking this way too seriously. If Nick wanted to leave the show, its not our business as to the why or how. Its the fans business to support and follow up with anything new the person might be getting in to. Bringing up past issues with other Paranormal shows, just shows how pathetic you all are for trying to start drama or issues where there probably isnt any. Way to go nosey celebrity stalkers. The issue was addressed professionally by the people that it concerns. If they wanted us to know what the issue was it would have been posted as well. For example.. as you loser would do, lets compare when Grant left Ghost Hunters, afer being bugged and bugged and pestered some more, he finally made a statement as to why he had to leave the show. All that really needs to be said is “its personal” or “life has changes and we move on to something new”. There needs to be no further response to it, unless the people involved want to share it. So Zak didnt make any comments.. what did you want him to do, slam his friend, call him names, bash him?? I think, no matter what is going on both parties took the higher road and decided it was not worth the drama to mention why this is happening. Maybe you all should find a better job than harassing people because they are on tv.
I’m unsure who you are responding to; however, I’m going to respond as if you were personally attacking me. I’m not a celebrity stalker. I blog about paranormal news. Nick leaving GAC was paranormal news. Further, Zak was not professional. If you read my prior posts, you will see my discussion. In addition, I think you should consult a dictionary and properly use words. I am not harassing people. I’m well-versed in the meaning of “harass.” Finally, I support constructive discourse. There needs to be more discussion on all things paranormal.
I agree with you 100%. This site is about all things paranormal, and as we are into “ALL” things paranormal, we discuss things that are happening in the paranormal world. If we agree on the opinion of the of what is written or not, we discuss, or debate, the issue (except for a few, um… adults) in a respectful manner. (The key word about how we “adults” should comment) again in a respectful manner as we all have differing views and opinions on certain subjects
Well stated!
I’m wondering…Nick seemed to be affected a lot recently. His physical reactions to spirit activity seemed to plague him more and more in later episodes. After doing paranormal investigations for so long, it’s possible that it was simply taking a toll on him, which, to me, is perfectly understandable. We also have no way of knowing how that may have been affecting his family. As fans, certainly we can speculate and anyone who says “get a life”…having constructive discussions about common interests IS a life…moron! It’s call communication! Anyway, I get the feeling that Nick may want to spend more time BEHIND the camera now instead of in front of it while still doing what he enjoys. I’ve watched the new show and while I don’t like it too much – that one guy cracks me up and I’m wondering why on Earth he became an investigator hahaha – I do wish Nick the absolute very best! Zak gets on my nerves and he treats Aaron HORRIBLY. He’s loud, crass, rude and disrespectful and Aaron should throat punch him.
So sad… I hope the three of them are still good friends and that there’s no bad blood.
me too
I’m from India and a keen enthusiast of paranormal and unexplained. Its kinda weird that I became a fan of GA only last week when I saw one of their episodes on youtube. I’m so so disappointed that Nick left….probably the bravest one. Remember the Celtic Demon episode when he jumped in a well?
This was some interesting stuff I just read here; I was also wondering what had happened that Nick would leave such a successful show just as a new season started!
I am also one who has noticed Zak has an ego somewhat large; but that is beside the point; what really saddens me is that Nick is leaving; my opinion he can’t be replaced; it was he and Zac who started this concept and it became what it is today; listen success does strange things to people no doubt; kudos to both Nick and Zac for creating such a great concept.
I only wish they both could have finished what they started together; I was getting a little irritated because I to thought it was strange that Zac never made any comments to the fact of Nick leaving the show; at least I never heard or saw anything posted; I may be wrong; but if there is any riff I would hope that the both of them can be man enough to reckon any indifferences and continue this quest they both started; I cannot tell you of any show in my entire lifetime that has affected me like the Ghost Adventures has; and again, I wish Nick the best; he was my favorite on the show and I will cling on to the hopes he returns before this show ends!
I don’t understand how Groff has left GAC to protect his family from spiritual attachments or anything negative affecting his family, then just recently announces the NickGroffTour starting of at Bobby Mackeys Music World, a place he insisted the GAC should not return to. It will be interesting to see if the new GAC team will decide to go back to Bobby Mackeys, a place where they always said they had unfinished business…
True. I’m mixed on Bobby M. Would love to investigate there to see for myself.
Nick answered that question about Mackey’s on his Nick Groff Tours FB page that he is in a different place now and ready to face what he feels he needs to at Mackeys. If I see the exact post, I’ll come back and post it. I enjoyed what you wrote Haunted Librarian. I was confused for weeks before the annoucement as to why no one was talking about some things that seemed unusual such as None of them followed Nick on Twitter any longer and no one took to Twitter to congratulate him on the birth of Chloe. Also, Nick posted a 24 second video that was supposed to air on Island of the Dolls and they wouldn’t air it, only show a picture of ZAK saying she had been born. It’s a sad situation. I like all 3 and enjoy the show- it makes me laugh. I hope they all succeed. However, Nick just seems to have a little more class in this situation.
And before anyone tells me to check my spelling or get a life, I also have a Kindle and blame autocorrect and I have Lupus which keeps me housebound, especially in winter and I enjoy intelligent conversion in this field that I have been interested in all my life. (yes, I had paranormal experiences since I was a child)
My Nook has the same auto correct issues. Thank you for your comments. They added value to our disussion.
Could there be any relevance to the comment that came through the talking board from “ZoZO” which said… “NICK.G Goodbye” S10e05. Wasn’t this hos last episode?? Could it have known??!!!
I get eighty channels, but sadly NOT the one Nick’s new show is on. (I wouldn’t mind TCM, either.)
Amazing to me since Discovery owns Destination America. Sorry. However, some of the episodes are posted on YouTube.
It is so much easier when you keep the company smaller..as time went on Zak added different techs all the while still treating Aaron like he doesn’t exist at times, but, if Aaron thinks this is all he can do then it’s his choice to take the abuse..On the other hand Nick and Zak started this awhile ago..and it was a quaint show bringing suspense..drama..and some scary moments..When you start to add things to the sauce that just doesn’t work it tends to go sour. I would bet that Nick being a right hand man to Zak..it felt like losing family and maybe Zak wasn’t ready for that ..so what is suppose to be a “Take care Bro hope all goes well” is more like “Wow what?? he had to felt a sense of betrayal and just poof that’s it..he’s done..Zak is not the only one who can be showcased here..He calls the shots..he narrates the whole show..while the flunkies do what he says…Sometimes..as people grow up… enough is enough…Nick has a family and is happily married..Aaron..left his wife and well who knows what the deal is with Zak..will he ever relinquish his power trip to have the love of his life..and kids..or is GA the only love of his life…kinda sucks as you get older…and you have no one to share that tree at the Shady Pines rest home..Lots of luck to Nick Groff..and his future..
I think this is a good example of how shows evolve. Change is inevitable and dire in the TV industry. Thanks for the comments.
A little late jumping in the above, but I love GA, watched from the beginning show. The only problem I detected was ZaK being a bit condescending to Nick and Aaron at different times. One of the last shows Nick appeared on (Z0 Z0 episode) Zak encouraged Nick to engage more than he was apparently comfortable and it was obvious from Nick’s response back to Nick. Other than a few sarcastic, condescending remarks I thought they performed well together. Nick will definitely be missed by everyone.
Should have proofed my response, please correct above should have read “Nick’s response back to ZAK.” Sorry for the oversight.
I agree: Nick will be missed. He has a huge following. I’m looking forward to new ventures from all of them.
I am a fan of Ghost Adventures and think Zak was the so called “TV talent” the show needed. He is great on camera, knows what to say and is good looking. Nick is good looking as well but as most normal humans, is not comfortable telling stories to the camera. The same with Aaron. I think they have great talent in other areas like film editing and production. They were also the bravest out of the three.
I think this is the reason that Nick left and this is just my opinion. If you notice on the Zozo episode, Nick did not want to open this can of worms again. He stated he just got cleansed and didn’t want to confront a demon. Zak didn’t agree but in the episode, it (Zozo) attacked Nick and they had a small fight on camera. It just spelled out Kill and then referenced Nick G. Then it said Goodbye. But it was also laughing when Zak and Nick were fighting. What do demons want most? Chaos and breaking family units and friends. It seems to me it accomplished what it wanted to do. I think Nick was tired of being put in front of the firing squad and I cannot believe Aaron is still there. Money is not everything and no amount of fame and money would keep me In this arena. I am involved in the paranormal as well running a small ghost tour company out of Gettysburg and have run into evil things on our investigations and I have been thinking of a way to run the company without me being there. I have recorded voices in the car with me after a tour which was alarming. They were having a discussion and one woman says “did she look in the back?” and then a deep voice says “shut up bitch”. Another night I heard a loud ‘yes”. No idea what yes meant but it was very clear. It’s very scary and I really wish all of them peace and i think they should take the money they have made and do something that won’t hurt them. This is just my opinion so no haters please.
Thank you for the thoughtful comment. I agree. Zak is the eye candy draw and very comfortable in that role. Demons love and thrive on chaos. Your wish for peace is very appropriate, too.
I agree with most of what you said, and I believe what you said about disconcerting stowaways in your car. I love GAC and will always watch, but Zak’s preoccupation with demonic possession is monotonous and tiresome, so I could easily understand if the others were exasperated by it. I don’t belong to an investigation group myself, but if I did I would definitely have the logo of a little cloven-hoofed, horned figure with a big red line through it: “No demonic energies, please!” lol I like pure ghosts, Victorian kids, monks, lovelorn milkmaids. You know, the classics.
I am not even remotely surprised that nick left. why? in the zo zo episode nick was trying to tell zak that he just got the bad mojo off of him after the exorcist house and now they were right back in the bad, negative b.s. I have watched these men grow with there research for years we all have. after bobby mackeys I think they took a step back from the demonic. I think they realized that there is a price to pay when dealing or conjuring or screwing around with the demonic. I my friends think why nicks choice to back away from the show. and after ghost stalkers came out there main objective was to determine if portholes exists or not. all of a sudden bell witch cave. they are all talking about portholes. well I think zak is asshurt and yes I believe he is controlling also. my predictions will be nick zak and Aaron will be back doing something together in the future. .
Time will tell. Thanks for commenting.
I just started to watch a new GA episode Bell Witch Cave and had to find out why Nick was not in the opening credits. Good for you Nick, I wish you much success. INick is a class act and added credibility to GA.
I find Zac extremely arrogant and full of himself. I stopped watching because I hate the way Zac makes Aaron look like the fool and Nick as the bait.
So I’ve now watched about 10 minutes and Zac says to the lady “…. that’s what would cause, excuse my french, a very pissed off spirit”. What is this high school?? Well at least he hasn’t said “compelling” yet.
LOL. I enjoyed this posting. I totally agree. I guess the viewing demographic has lowered. The Bell Witch Cave is interesting. This is not the first time it has been investigated for television.
Well considering zak is a complete narcissist and control freak ….this isn’t surprising.
Happens in every organization. Oh well.
Haunted Librarian, you have a right to your opinion and a few of zealous Zak fans are being unnecessarily rude. You must have touched a nerve.
I’ve been told that there is a whole group devoted to all things Zak. They troll the Internet and bash people as “Zak Haters.” Apparently, I struck a nerve. Oh my!
All “ghosts” are really demons, The Bible says.
According to 2 Corinthians 11:14-15, demons masquerade as “angels of light” and as “servants of righteousness.” Appearing as a “ghost” and impersonating a deceased human being definitely seem to be within the power and abilities that demons possess.

This is an interesting discussion. I respectfully disagree; however, I’m happy you posted. Haters need not comment. Productive discourse only, please.
I’m really stuck in the middle on this subject. Like I said above, I have witnessed many unexplainable things being an investigator for the public in Gettysburg but I am very curious about this. I have heard that this is true. That there is one demon at this particular place we go but we hear over 20 different souls saying they are so and so. Then other nights, we go out and hear nothing but “Obama” over and over. I doubt it’s referring to our President but I think in the old testament, and believe me, I’m not an expert about the Bible, but I “heard” that God says that the antichrists name is prefix O name Bama. If anyone knows about this, please educate me. I am very interested. When this spirit does this, not one other voice will come through and a lot of our pictures are black. We just got another picture of a winged entity flying right at us. Many people have gotten this photograph and it’s on our website at http://www.afterdarkinvestigations.com. Not to promote myself, but it’s a reference to see and hear very strange things.
Promote away! I love supporting others. Stay safe!
About a month ago or more, I read an article that talked about a house or a building that Zak purchased that was reportedly possessed by a demon and they were working on a special series about the place and doing interviews. During the filming when a member of the “group” found out what the “demon” was reported to have done to a little girl, a member of the group said they were “done” and apparently left and would not go back. So if we are to “assume” it was Nick that didn’t want to participate – it would explain his departure from the show and starting work on a new one.
The Portal to Hell House special was purely Zak’s production. To my knowledge, Nick was never involved. You’re correct in that supposedly there was some “demonic” activity when they were filming which, according to Zak, postponed production. I’m sure production will begin and there will be a show on it. Thanks for commenting.
According to Dread Central’s interview with Zak he stated the following.
“One of my production crew quit on the spot when we heard what the
girl was doing when she was possessed. …” not sure if he’s referring to
Nick….but the time line does fit for when Nick departed.
Why stop production on Portal to Hell House – aren’t they looking to make contact? Isn’t that the reason Zak bought the house? None of this makes any sense at all.
One would think there is a long list of willing participants who would jump at the chance to join the team, make contact with the unknown or be on tv with Zak. One crew member quits and production halts. I hope this isn’t a publicity stunt for future ratings. If the time line coincides when Nick left, then my assumption is that Zak needs Nick and his ego won’t let him admit the truth.
This is from Zak’s Facebook page:

Thanks for the news item! Should be interesting.
Thanks for the info – I couldn’t believe Zac would just walk away from the project. Looking forward to watching it.
From Nick’s Facebook page yesterday:
Nick Groff – Main Page
Brandi Ferrell To be clear, it wasn’t because of my family. There is more to it, than beats the eye. I really appreciate everyone’s comments and support throughout the years. I rather let it go and move on at this point. I am not a negative person and I will leave it at that. Thank you.

Great example of professionalism.
I thought the same thing. He seems to have a lot of projects going on with opening new gyms and his new investigations. Wish him the best!
And that is why we all love Nick, he’s all class.
This SUCKS with Nick not being on Ghost Adventures and all u “Zak” fans SHUT YOUR FACE!!! I like Zak too I just think he trys 2 run everythng & that’s not cool! That show will never be the same without Nick and everyone knws it! Zak shld never wanna do the show without Nick & for him to says ALOT bout him! Why wld he fire Nick! I mean really who does he think he is now?? He’s attitude has changed ALOT! You can see it n the last few seasons he thinks he’s the “ONLY” star of the show like he’s the only one that matters & u knw what that rite there makes him A SUCKY PERSON!!
I wish Amy from The Dead Files would go to a site with Zak to call him out for being a fake.
Now I would watch that!
Frankly, I’ve been wondering what’s wrong with Zac for the last 2 seasons. And how Aaron and Nick were managing to put up with him? He’s become super dark, volatile, bossy, rude, insensitive to others yet a total wimpy scaredy cat himself. I was happening GAC would let him go and keep Nick and Aaron. Zac has gotten way too full of himself. OR full of something!
The huge following of females who blindly adore him keeps him on the air.
Love al those guys.
They’re all unique in their own special way.
I wish them all well.
Oops… Yourmamatoo
Mispelled my user name. It’s yourmamatoo
Sigh..
zak bagans has an ego, the only likeable one left is arron. its a shame nick left. I liked him on the show.
From what I have read, that many, many people wherever they have met Zak, and the guys, claim Zak is a big stuck ass, so I believe that when Nick went to working on that other show and had a new baby, he was going to miss a few episodes that Zak got upset and asked him to leave and they are not just co-workiers, when they started GA they were all 3 best friends, it’s proof as with Jason Hawes and Ghost Hunters that being friends does not matter when Money and power come into play, Jason has let 90% of all the GH people go since starting, on Steve & Tango have been able to stay out of his way and continue on.
I’m pretty sure Zak was the issue.. he’s full of himself and that’s obvious. The Aftershock shows were horrid and VERY boring… rehashing the same old stuff because you can’t come up with some original is very boring… so I’ll be tuning into Nick’s show… he’s more genuine.
ZAC has grown so dark–demons are all he wants to encounter. There is FAR MORE to the paranormal–there is also LIGHT and LOVE.
Apparently light and love doesn’t attract advertisers.
I notice speaking of myself, I began feeling depressed watching Ghost Adventures followed by Amy Allen. So I cut Amy Allen, I still watched Adventures tho, mainly for Nick–so left with Zak and lovable nut Aaron, I may be able to give it up I do like Billy tho. I am interested in GA, fascinated really–but I need a little more lightness and positivity to keep me really happy there. I am defintely not “dark”, nor do I ever “wannabe.” I wonder if others out there would be interested in some shows that feature more joy with good spirits coming thru. Am I alone?.
I would love to see more good spirit type shows. Unfortunately, that is not appealing to the production companies. Doesn’t mean we should stop asking, though.
I was just pondering—what would I like to see if I had a choice of spirits…and had to laugh at myself–I’d like my Aunt Ellen to come thru with her recipe for those Swedish cookies I haven’t had in decades. Now—how would audiences enjoy that? NOT!! So I see how unexciting that might turn out to be for viewers. ” Love and light” may just be too personal for general audiences–I see that now. Well OK—, bring on the demons ,I get it..
I’ve never been quite sure what to make of Ghost Adventures. I see there are two types who watch the show, those who have, and have not been affected by the unexplained. I fall into the prior.
I would like to see more paranormal shows, though. There is so much material, but the same old stories and locations seem to be profiled on several.
I agree with the Haunted Librarian – more paranormal shows. There are so many haunted places throughout America, Canada and Europe and it seems as the current shows just keep going over old news. Sallie’s house – how many have gone over this dun of a story. The two people who allegedly experienced Sallie’s activities are getting rich. Let’s have something new without blood and guts and spiders. Let’s get some spirit activity.
Ghost Adventures feels like it’s missing a piece of its puzzle. What also made the show good to me was not only the evidence, but the chemistry among the three (though I do like the company of Billy and Jay as well). Aaron, keep being who you are because we all love it. Zak and Nick, if you guys come across this post: I sincerely hope you guys work together again in the future – just promise us fans that the GAC will leave the lights on for Nick in case he ever has a change of heart.
good luck nick…”T” Bag has turned Ghost adventures into a Drama Queen show..sad really…look forward to your new efforts..you will be better off in the end..GA is a real hollywood tripe show lately…hence the T bag Baggens comment…that was his nick name in high school…”t” bag…
First NATZI…doesn’t have a “T” it’s spelled “nazi” person way up there. It was hysterical… “grammar natzi” couldn’t even spell that right AND this thing has a spell check.
Anyway.. sorry to see Nick go. Sorry that the “team” (most likely picked out of a casting) is breaking up. I thought they were cast very well and had good chemistry. I guess Zak is starting to believe the bullshit that’s written for him. Whatever.
The show is still good clean fun and I wish Nick success with making a new show that’s also good clean fun.
What was that? Did you hear that? lol
I’m the Jewish descendant of a Holocaust survivor. Can we keep Nazi’s out of the equation? It’s always taken out of context. Just call him a horsesass an leave it at that.
I’ve arrived pretty late to this party! First, I just wanted to say that this a really nice thread with a lot of awesome comments.
I think back to when Grant left Ghost Hunters and how that show sent him off in a pretty good way. They gave him the respect that he deserved, considering he was one of the founders of TAPS. Fast forward to GA, they never even mention that Nick left the team! I assumed that he was just unavailable for a few weeks. Only after not seeing him for an extended time did I decide to look into it.
I never have liked Zak; always thought that his ego would inevitably kill the show.
Great thread, Haunted Librarian. You’ve definitely gained a follower!
Don’t know why when something keeps working good why change it. Nick should of stayed. Now that Ghost Hunters is having problems Ghost Adventures will follow suit, but I hope not honestly! Dead Files does it right and is becoming the best paranormal show on T.V. Need to leave well enough alone.
Fan since the beginning.
Alan
Me and my sister are big fans of Ghost Adventures and we were very disappointed when we found out Nick was fired. We hope the show they will not replace Nick knowing it will never be the same as before. Hopefully Ghost Adventures will continue to be one our favorite shows for a very long time. 🙂
Sorry for bad grammer. Just about to go to sleep.
Why am I not surprised… I’m sent a link to gossip… I swear… Ok let’s get this over with… I’ll start with this:
I can’t see any reason (no matter how big of a fan you are of GA) to dash on someone even without knowing the full story(which by the way, is non of anyone’s buisness). I don’t get it people, do you really have nothing better to do with your life except dash on others!! Why does it matter the reason Nick left!! He’s gone from GA,(sad but true) nothing can change that!! Wanna know why he left you ask? well then let me say this, if no one has (at this point) stated the reason, then maybe (just think about it) it has nothing to do with any of their fans or haters or just public in general? yea that seems legit. This isn’t the first time a member leaves his crew and no one tells the public why. Does it make Zak ‘unprofessinal’ to not say “we’ll miss you Nick” uh, yea, no it doesn’t make him unprofessional, It means he doesn’t want to touch the subject. But like a friend told me (when she sent me this link… god this time of my life wasted..) “Zak is a dush, but he didn’t insult Nick, actually if he says anything even ‘good luck Nick’ everyone’s still gonna react like this…”
And I agree with my friend.
Well this is my opion, wanna correct it? go ahead…
Although I do want to say me commenting on your opion is kinda childish, but I (like many, and yes I inclued you) are subject to an opion, and do as we see fit with it (be it professional or not).
Forgive misspellings I’m still learning english (so I have faults)
P.S. i am a fan of this show and i was devistated to see Nick left…. but I still watch GA like I watched GS’s first season, And frankly I like both.
P.S.S. I have no intention what so ever to insult anyone. If I did I humly apologise, I’m just stating my opion be it you agree or not.
Good luck with learning your English friend. In fact here’s a lesion for you.
P.S. stands for “Post Script.” Representing an afterwards to what you wrote above.
P.S.S. means nothing at all. What you’re looking for is the following,
P.P.S. as in ” Post Post Script”.
As far as your comment/opinion, aren’t you raging against the very thing you yourself did…? Either way, in my opinion if you take such offense at someone else’s opinion, it tends to come off as disrespectful of it and thereby degrading your own opinion.
Best to keep emotions out of it when responding or posting to a forum.
Good Luck…
I found this website when my curiosity got the better of my trying to guess if Nick left, quit, or was fired. Personally I could not care less. I suppose I’m in the minority here because I never cared for Nick past the Original Special several years back. While I’m sure he contributed plenty in his own way, the only thing more annoying and you could be sure to count on in a GA episode were Zac’s narcissistic fits, and Nick repeating once again how he “felt” the spirits like electricity through his “bawdy.”. I just grew tired of it.
This is not a critique of the individual, simply of the constant repetition of waiting for the moment in each episode when Nick would ” feel” something. While I consider myself a believer in many things, this feeling if it happens is most likely the natural human fight or flight response and anxiety. In the experiences I’ve had I can agree you may well feel something but the implication here seemed to be he felt the ghosts or spirits. Or maybe I should say Demon because they never run across grandma but always Beelzebub.
Well, I’ve begun to dissemble, so I can only say this for sure. I think the show can be better without Nick. I hope Nick finds success in his new endeavors. Zac’s Ego is WAY too big for TV and yep, grammar is very important if you want to be taken seriously. Which in my case I apologize now for as I’m older and mobile print fonts are so small I often can not read what I’m actually typing my own self.
Thank you for taking the time to comment. Glad you found me! Hope you continue to read.
I’ve watched since the first season and I am a huge supporter- but want to know if the show was really faked- ever- even once. I wonder if Nick would give it up if its true. I didn’t know he produced ghost stalkers- it was too histrionic (no one cares about the main character that much- he takes himself way to seriously- he needs to get some perspective- and lighten up this isn’t his personal therapy session- are at least it shouldn’t be) but a good idea and they got some excellent ghost footage- could be revamped a bit and be good. Nick was kind of a whinny cry-baby but I loved him anyhow- his seriousness did gave the show credibility.
The “is it faked” rumors will always swirl. Time will tell, though.
I also found this website trying to get some info why Nick wasn’t on Ghost Adventures anymore. I have watched the show for awhile now, seen some changes over time, some good, some bad, overall my feeling of the show is its going in a lame direction. They do have some good episodes, but those are far and few between. It seems like now Zak is so theatrical it makes the show to cheesy for me sometimes. There are some annoyances how they talk about Native Americans and portray them on some episodes. Being Native American its a bit annoying how GA view and portray them on their show, have even written to GA a couple times about this issue, no response. Wasn’t expecting one anyways, they are a huge hit now, no time for fans. Just had to get this out there. Thanks!
I agree with you on Zac’s drama queen persona and the negative way he interacts with Native American’s, he has NO RESPECT for the Native people of our country and forgets that this is YOUR country. He belittles that which doesn’t figure into his agenda, the paycheck. Zac is a jerk. His show is fake. Thank you Jessica.
I would like to say last new episode that aired last Saturday, Zak finally did correct himself and actually said Native Americans instead of Indians which is much appreciated. This is the first time since they been on the air that he actually used the correct terminology for Native Americans. It was funny because I was on the computer and my husband was watching GA, and Zak said “Native Americans”, it actually got my attention and I had to ask my husband did he just say Native Americans instead of Indians. So it was really nice and appreciated not only for myself and my husband but I am sure a lot of other Natives watch it too and find it very nice that he has corrected himself.
The GAC show always states that `It is for entertainment purposes only’
I find the show entertaining. I have laughed at the trios escapades; been informed of the historical facts of their locations & venues; fascinated by Whatever evidence they have managed to capture with the various equipment. The trio of GAC were like the 3 muskateers of paranormal investigation!
Wishing Nick, Aaron and Zac success with their chosen projects.
I think Nick had better reason than getting dissed by zac. He’s a family man, has a band, and maybe it was time for Nick to explore new territories and bid goodbye to his fame. After all, don’t we get tired when we are stuck with the same story and the same routine.
I would love to see new shows with more people. There’s a lot of people out there with some amazing and down right spine chilling stories to share.
Thanks for the article. I didn’t even know Nick left until I started to read Zak’s new book and noticed he thanked everyone but Nick so I did a quick google and found your article. Thanks.
Really? That’s not cool. Not cool at all. And also very sad.
I always watched this show purely as a comedy. All such shows are comedy. What I noted right away was Groff posted on Facebook with a rant denying he was leaving GHOST ADVENTURES. So what happened next? Aaron Goodwin either got fired or quit; no one knows yet. What a clown car. That is what I get for watching something to help me chuckle and unwind. Paranormal? Give me a break. That word doesn’t even have any real meaning.
Wow, a bit shallow there don’t you think? While the show does have its funny moments, I wouldn’t call it pure comedy. Especially not the parts where people talk about their traumatic experiences. Whatever floats your boat, I guess.
Sir, wherever is this Facebook comment you speak of? I may have missed it, but I couldn’t find what you mentioned – at least not on his own page. Also, I have not heard any news on the remote possibility of Aaron Goodwin being fired. Please refrain from spreading misinformation… Then again, maybe I shouldn’t take someone who views Ghost Adventures as pure comedy too seriously.
